Its main objective is the optimal coordination between the electricity and energy systems so as to achieve balance between current and future system operation costs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Origin and Contributions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PLP started in 2000 thanks to the contributions made by the electricity generation company Colb\u00fan. Its improvement in time has been made possible thanks to the funds given by CDEC-SIC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Centro de Energ\u00eda joined the development of this tool in 2011, going through several research stages since. The program has undergone a continuous improvement process, and today it is on its 2.0 version.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The development of PLP has allowed to reduce system modeling time from four hours to ten minutes.
