Project description

VESUSCON or Condor Sustainable Vehicle, is a project that works on the design, construction and implementation of an electric car with Vehicle to Grid (V2G), utilitarian and community capability. Through this technological tool, it seeks to promote economic productivity and reduce the use and dependence on diesel for electricity generation and cargo transportation, generating a social contribution in rural and isolated areas of Chile. The community selected to implement this project is Huatacondo in the Tarapacá region, which has a Micro-grid type electric generation system. This electric vehicle with V2G capacity allows its energy accumulators to exchange power with the grid to which it is connected. It also offers the possibility of being used in two modes of operation: disconnected from the electrical grid, performing traction work, such as transporting cargo to farms, collecting household solid waste and transporting items within the town. The second use option is with the vehicle parked and connected to the grid. In this way, complementary services of load balancing, current harmonic filtering and power step smoothing are offered to the community.
