Solar energy aims at generating solid knowledge that strengthens irradiation conditions in northern Chile, through research on scientific, technical and economic challenges. Some of its lines of research are: Solar energy for industries and mining; High-powered electricity systems with solar energy penetration; Focus on solar energy coordination system for rural and urban communities; Solar energy storage; Solar water treatment; Economic, social and regulatory aspects for the development of solar energy.
